Cambridge, Massachusetts

lobster-editIf you’re in Salem, Massachusetts celebrating a spooky Halloween, make sure you stop by Loyal Nine. This rustic Cambridge Restaurant time travels you to 1780’s. Is this menu from another century? Well, kinda. Chef Marc Sheehan is living the dream of the 1780s. Sheehan et al. have studied everything including rum and cider and the focuses of the beverage menu. Thankfully, dishes like an outrageously good bread pudding/chocolate brownie hybrid show that no matter what period in history one might find inspiring, certain tastes are timeless. The must try plates: sallet with hard cider vinaigrette and aged goat cheese, and soused mackerel on brown bread with horseradish.
